Honey & Fig Chicken

By Lionel Mann, March 8th, 2007

Tired of the same old pluck, pluck. If you’ve got a hankerin’ for a chicken recipe that is simple and good, you’ve just found one. This goes down sweet and easy with an Indian twist.

1.5 kg chicken
500 g white figs (or whatever you find)
100 g sweet onion
2 garlic cloves
3 tbsp of honey
1 tsp of cinammon
1 drop of saffron
Salt & pepper

In a pan, warm up the oil and fry the chicken until golden. Add the chopped onion, the finely cut garlic and the spices. Cover with warm water and cook on a mild temperature for 30 min. 10 min. before the end of the cooking, add the halved figs and honey.

Serve with rice.
